Orris root powder gin botanical (the root of the iris flower). Orris imparts a dusky sweetness, depth and texture to gin. Used widely in small quantities in so may gins.
Orris acts to bind and enhance the flavours of the other gin botanicals as the heavy sweet woody ground powder of the root helps to weigh down the other flavours stopping them from disappearing in the distillation process.
