Great Course

This was an excellent course for people already making cider but wanting to take the process to another level. Paul & Bob had the answers to all the questions asked. I would highly recommend Vigo Presses and Courtneys Cider if you are interested in making cider. The equipment provided by Vigo Presses is first class and top quality. Customer service is equally as good. Nothing is too much trouble. The course really let’s you understand the intricacies of blending, sweetening and maturing your cider.

Advanced Cider Making Course - just what I needed

I found the course very instructive, helping me to understand where I have gone wrong in the past and how to make my cider better in the future. The balance between theory and practical was about right, though I felt a little lost at first in the practical.

Fun and Informative Day

After missing out on a course in 2021 I was delighted to see new dates for April this year. Travelling from North Yorkshire may seem a long way but it was worth it. Having started to mess around with apple juice many years ago, moving on to attempt cider a few years later I knew I had to keep learning to improve. This course is excellent for those who have some experience (ie know the basics and have the equipment) or who are committed to really getting in to Cider production. I left the course with a much more complete understanding of how to manage my cider after fermentation, how to blend, how to assess and control sugar and acid levels. Do take a bottle or two of your own as it is a great opportunity for feedback. Be prepared to come away wanting more kit! I thought I had what I needed but realised that I could make life much easier by adding some other items. Just in time for racking off. A great day, relaxed and fun but very informative, well worth a 300 mile drive.....oh and lunch was great with an opportunity to try some of the excellent Courtney's cider!

Advanced Cider Making Course

What a superb session that Paul (Vigo) and Bob Chaplin (Cider expert) put on together, it was excellent, I learnt so much and Bob answered many questions and problems that I hadn't been able to overcome. Now I feel more confident in my cider making. Also, what great hospitality that Paul (Vigo) and his wife Linda put on. The happy greeting, the coffees, superb location, and the cottage pie was so delicious and finished off with my all time favourite, Apple Crumble, it was wonderful. I can't recommend the course high enough.
